Tiny Fruit Press is a female-led publishing company, founded by Bethany Callaway and Charlotte Leatherland. It grew from a shared love for poetry, coffee-stained notebooks, and the quiet thrill of making something small and sincere in a world that often feels very loud.

Bethany has tried her hand at many creative outlets, but poetry has become the one that felt most fluent, most nurturing; a place where there were no rules, only curiosity and play. Discovering contemporary poetry sparked an obsession that quickly spilt beyond the page and into the community. Alongside working as a barista (fuelled by a deep love of food and 'really good coffee' - thanks Wood Street), she runs Vino and Verses, a poetry open mic based at Chater’s in Saffron Walden: a space that

has become a deeply wholesome, supportive home for spoken word, connection, and brave first readings. At its core is a desire to nurture people with similar dreams, and to keep extending poetry into lived, shared experience. Tiny Fruit Press came into being when Bethany published her first book and realised: why stop there, when you could build something more? (Little her would be so proud).

Charlotte is a recovering fine art student who works in the film industry, and who, a little late in life, learned to
think of herself as a writer as well as a visual artist. She bonded with Bethany over sitting in cafés, writing in
notebooks, and talking endlessly about poems, which led to her reading her work aloud at Vino and Verses.

From there, the step to Tiny Fruit Press felt like a short and logical progression: a place to give written
form to the voices emerging in that room, and a way to support writers and artists who deserve to be
held, printed, and appreciated. Founded on a commitment to representing writers and artists in and
around Saffron Walden, our roots are local, but our ambitions stretch far beyond that. This is, after all,
only the beginning…
