Join us at Hart’s Books to celebrate the launch of Tom Rigby’s debut poetry collection, Eighteen Hours.
Eighteen Hours runs through the course of a day in which each station of the clock provokes the start of different conversations. Each chapter is named for a series of sequential periods, starting with sunrise and ending at midnight, providing the opportunity to explore themes of growth, love, acceptance and the domestic. Moving from dawn to dusk and beyond, this collection is grounded in everyday life, where both vulnerability and openness appear alongside an opportunity to reflect.
The evening will be relaxed and celebratory. Tom will be doing a short reading from the book, followed by a casual Q&A, and there’ll be plenty of time to chat, browse, and celebrate together. Copies of the book will be available to buy from Hart’s and signed by Tom on the night.
Wine and water will be available.
This is Tom’s very first book, and we’d love nothing more than for him to be celebrated the way he deserves by being surrounded by people who love words, stories, and independent bookshops. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re friends or family, a poetry reader, a curious browser, or just fancy a cosy evening among books.
